SHIRE
In color project, at the beginning we learn primary colors and mixed colors. We did some studies about colors.
Then we choose a civilization and we did some research. I choose ‘Hobbits’. Hobbits first appeared in the novel The Hobbit, whose titular hobbit is the protagonist, Bilbo Baggins. The novel The Lord of the Rings includes more hobbits as major characters, Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Peregrin Took and Meriadoc Brandybuck, as well as several other minor hobbit characters. Hobbits are very short people and they have big foots. They live in Shire town. Because of this my project name is Shire. Hobbits make their house into pits and live in small houses.

We made an abstract model about our civilization. First of all I inspired from their houses. The doors are shape of circle, so I create a model with circles. I brought the paper combines cone shape.
Then I transform my model one piece again using curve forms. The paper in the horizontal plane; one side flat and the other side of the curved. With the way that I have created, in the part that looked straight from the top folds are formed. Final step, I was trying to go high, I tried to raising parts of air.

After that we create different patterns inspired of our civilization and paint them. In my pattern I use circle and S forms because in some detail in Hobbits they usually use curve forms.
For example I inspired S form from Hobbits’ post box and circle form from the doors. When I painted my pattern I used most of colors like green, brown, red, blue… I used most of color because in Hobbit; they live in green town and they usually wear vibrant colors.
Then we apply our pattern on the model. I organized according to the model of the size of the object contours and sizes. Because there are many colors in my civilization, I could use any color by providing transition between colors. In my first final model, I painted with acrylic paint. Then I did patterns on computer, print them and apply on my model.
